Wyatt Ravlo was instrumental for the team this past weekend at the Buster Harvey Tournament. Wyatt finished the tournament, which featured 28 teams from across the Maritimes, with just two goals allowed in 2 games. Including a sparkling effort in a 1-0 defeat against the top team in the Maritimes who won the tournament the Riverview Raiders. Wyatt finished in the top 2 goalies for Goals Against Average and Save Percentage! An incredible feat for a first year goaltender in the AAA level.
Not only his on ice skills, but off the ice he was what you want in a kid on your team. Wyatt had a smile on his face at the rink, at the hotel, no matter where he loved playing and being around his teammates. The kids all enjoy having him and he had a weekend to remember!
U11B Black
Camden Heisler has been working hard for his U11B Black team day-in and day-out. Whether the coaches need Camden to play forward or defense, he’s always willing to pitch in and contribute. Camden’s work ethic is infectious and he always brings a smile to the rink. Keep up the good work Camden.
Week 4 - November 11th to 17th
Owen “O-Dog” Keefe – Owen is a big, strong defender for his U11B Black team. Owen always comes to the rink with a smile on his face. His coaches also appreciate his heavy shot and that was on display this weekend when Owen scored not once, but twice in one game. Keep up the great work!
Soren Larson is a first year center with the U13 AA Hawks. Soren's play so far this year has been exceptional. He has truly grasped the teams number one concept and most underdeveloped skill in minor hockey - team play. He has been a factor in at least 50% of the offence so far this year and has done an equally excellent job with his defensive zone assignments and responsibilities, especially D-zone face-offs. A great emerging young leader that knows what it means to lead by example and without a letter on his jersey. Great job Soren!
U15 C Redhawks forward Ben Begin had 3 assists last week and he is working really hard on the forecheck and back check for his team, constantly winning battles against players much bigger than him. Well done Ben!
U13C Ice Hawks Peyton Plotsky. He's a lady byng & art ross type of leader on our team. He is always encouraging his teammates and had 2 goals in a 5-4 loss this week.
Addie had a fantastic game in nets against Sackville, picking up her first U13 AAA win in a 5-0 shutout over Sackville! Addie made many huge saves for the team including a spectacular pad save on a 2 on 1.
Addie Keys has been working extremely hard in practice and along with her goalie partner Wyatt have both shown incredible strides at the level. To be a first year goalie in U13 AAA is rare and Addie is exceeding expectations!
Week 5 November 18th to 24th
U11B Black:
Greyson Thorpe has been exhibiting a strong work ethic all season long. Greyson has been improving his total game at a rapid pace so far. He is sometimes asked to play forward or defense and his coaches love his ability to adjust on the fly. Keep up the great work this season Greyson!
U15 C Black Hawks player Seamus Brennan: We were missing some players due to illness. Seamus gave the pep talk before the game to pump the team up. We fell behind early but he kept the team motivated scoring 2 goals in a 3-3 tie to a team higher in the standings. Great job Seamus!
Week 6 November 25th to Dec 1st
U15 B Red: Theo Fortier
Theo is a dedicated defenseman for U15 B Red. Theo is a true team player with lots of talent! He is always positive with kind words for his teammates after wins and losses. During and after challenging games, he is a constant source of encouragement for his team with his mature attitude, leadership skills and good hockey sense. He is very deserving of being named Hawk of the Week !
