Camps are designed and led by our Technical Director, Tim Boyce. Tim has over 20 years of coaching and has worked with and developed over 75 QMJHL draft picks, 4 NHL draft picks and numerous players for NCAA and US prep schools. Additionally, Tim has been the  head coach of the Halifax Macs U18 Hockey club for 14 years where the club is routinely at the top of the NSU18 Major Hockey League

Camps will feature guest instructors from the Hawks as well as high level coaching from HRM and surrounding areas

Below is a list of our 2026 pre season camps. Do not wait to register - camps fill up quickly. We will not be adding additional skaters in order to keep ice times manageable with a strong instructor to player ratio.

• All camps will be held at Centennial Arena. (Unless specified below at a different arena)
• All ice sessions are 1 hour in length.
• If camps are sold out there is no room to "mix and match" ice sessions.  Please show up for the ice times assigned to the camp you registered for.
• Players should bring their own water bottles
• No refunds after Monday August 17th.
• Skater camps are open to a max of 25 skaters per group to ensure proper player to instructor ratio

Goalie Camp

Our goalie camp is back again by popular demand.  5 hours of instruction led by Brad MacCharles of Empire goaltending and is open to all age groups and skill levels. Fine tune those technical aspects of your game prior to the season with one of the best in the business!

Any goalies who register for the Empire camp, can also join the skaters camps for additional ice at no charge.  No need to try and register for the additional camps.  We will contact all goalies closer to the camp dates about joining the additional skater camps at no charge.

U7 FUNdamentals 

The 5 sessions will focus on the fundamentals of hockey, giving the U7 player a good base of the basics to build onto for the upcoming season.  We will focus on stance, posture, balance, skating stride, stops, starts, turns, edge discovery, and puck handling while putting the FUN into FUNdamentals!

Cost:  $165.00

U9 Camps

The 5 sessions will focus on the fundamentals of hockey, giving the U9 player a good base of the basics to build onto for the upcoming season.  We will focus on stance, posture, balance, skating stride, stops, starts, turns, edge discovery, and puck handling/shooting.

U11 Camps

The 4 sessions will have power skating, puck handling, shooting, passing and competing elements built into the camp.  We will add some conditioning aspects to the practices as well to prepare players for tryouts. Goalies: Email TD@HalifaxHawks.ca if you would like to attend any of these skater sessions at no charge.

U13 AAA Development Skates

The 4 sessions will run from September 3rd to the 9th and will get players ready for the U13 AAA tryouts that commence on Sept 18th.  Sessions will be run by our Technical Director and members of the U13AAA coaching staff.  These will be high level, high compete, and high intensity practices that are geared towards those trying out for U13AAA.

The 4 sessions will have power skating, puck handling, shooting, passing and competing elements built into the camp. We will add some conditioning aspects to the practices as well to prepare players for tryouts.  Goalies: Email TD@HalifaxHawks.ca if you would like to attend any of these skater sessions at no charge.

U15 / U18 Camp 

The 4 sessions will have power skating, puck handling, shooting, passing and competing elements built into the camp. We will add some conditioning aspects to the practices as well to prepare players for tryouts. This will be a NON CONTACT Camp due to the mixing of skill levels.

U15/U18 Camp Skater: 

Contact Confidence Camp

This is a camp for players in U15/U18 that already have their checking certification to get more comfortable with angling and contact.
